Tony Hart died yesterday :(
He's probably one of the reasons I've always doodled around with art and cartoony things, no doubt that he inspired one hell of a lot of people over the last few generations.

Ok, I just watched Stargate Atlantis Season 3 Ep 17 last night, "Sunday" I believe it's called.
( And now the Spoiler'd Rant )
Well, my cold is clearing up now. I just have this annoying cough left, every time I cough I seem to be pulling on a stupid muscle I didn't know I had in my chest.
Christmas next week! Yey!

Well, Show week is over and I can finally sleep!
"Company" ran Thurs-Sat last week, with me sleeping a lot of Sunday and was a lot of fun (a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun). I'm considering auditioning for the next show they do too, I'd forgotten how much i miss doing acting stuff.
Anyway, apart from all that I've done TONS since I last updated, I don't really have time for updates at the moment (work = busy) but i just wanted to post and clear the dust off the good old LJ.
Speak soon,
Matt

I do intend to post a full "Update on Matt" post at some point, Promise!
In the meanwhile I just wanted to pop on and say YEY!
The break in I had WAY WAY back in July when I got back from Ireland has FINALLY been recognised by my insurance company and they have decided to pay out!
Cheque by the end of the week, woot!

Firstly thanks to everyone that sent me texts, emails and posted on my facebook wall wishing me happy birthday! It was very appreciated.
Sunday was indeed the day & I'm an old bastard at 25 now, but hey, it makes my car insurance cheaper!
On that note I now have my car on the road! It's both fun and scary at the same time. I'm now having to spend time getting used to my own gearbox and clutch (which doesn't seem to want to give much indication when it's at biting point until I'm about a millimetre away from stalling it) but hey, I'll get used to it. I have my first motorway driving lesson (my instructor owed me a couple of lessons so instead of getting the money back I'm having one big motorway driving lesson to calm my nerves).
This week is also a busy one. I have a BUSOM exec meeting tonight so we can discuss the shows over the next year (I can't remember if I'd said but rather soon I'm becoming BUSOM president for the year). Then Wed I'm off out at a pub quiz and Thursday V & I are going to attempt to catch "Hellboy II" :) Friday I plan to do nothing (apart from washing) and then the weekend is for driving and sleeping :D
Anyway, that's enough randomness.
Matt
(Who is now back on a LJ free account as he saw no need to pay for a paid one again)

Well, on Sunday it's my Birthday Car Day!
V & I will be heading over to Mum & Dad's on the morning so we can see everyone there & Grandma & Granddad too. Then, after all the usual Birthday stuff, I'm planning on jumping in the car (who has yet to be named) and going on a trip out to York for the rest of the day :)
Hopefully as well as the middle of town we can get to the National Railway Museum (V loves trains). Ohh I also want to make sure i go to the Shambles in York as it always reminds me of Diagon Alley.
Hope everyone is doing ok this week. My phone is playing up recently so if I don't reply to any texts I apologise. I'm hoping to get a new "loan phone" soon to tide me over to October when my contract is up (then, all going well I should be an iPhone boy [read: "Consumer Whore"]).
In other geeky news I've recently cancelled my World of Warcraft account (again) in favor of going to play Lord of the Rings Online for a bit with Alex. I had a few hours on it at the weekend and I must admit I enjoyed it lots. It's like WOW in it's simplicity but just 10 times prettier. That and I'm not one of these LORE NAZIS like Christopher Lee so I can actually enjoy the game for what it is without pointing out any inaccuracies :)

OMG WOW! Just WOW!
Ok then, busy few weeks since I last posted. Here's the quick version:
1) I Passed my driving test!! Woo Yeah!
Passed on the 8th which was my second attempt (as my dad says, all the best people pass second time). Suffice to say I was very excited which leads to point 2.
2) I Bought a car!
I'm now the proud owner of a Blue Vaxhall Corsa. She's all mine! I'm so very proud. Alas I can't drive her yet though. When i was looking into my insurance I decided to look to see if insuring it from my birthday (a week on Sunday, I'll turn 25) would make any difference. Well, it made a LOT of difference. Around £300 to be exact, so in order to save £300 I have to wait to drive until my birthday. It's a fair deal but still rather frustrating. I'm SO itching to drive (and yes I know I'm whining).
3) Jeremy Kyle!
Lis, Kay & I went to see a live taping of the "Jeremy Kyle Show" last Thursday! It was odd and funny and cool all at the same time. Suffice to say we had a fun day. There were lie detector results & everything.
In other news:
Umm, not much else. I gave blood last week again, I've decided to drive down to collectormania this year and FINALLY people in my family have stopped having birthdays for the moment so I can stop buying presents every two seconds.
Ohh yeah, and V is up again today :) She's staying for 3 weeks this time (squee) so I'm a happy bunny.
*hugs to all*

Hey everyone.
I think it's traditional for me to start every LJ post with "sorry i haven't posted for a while but..." so there we go.
Anyway, the last few weeks I have been feeling rather rather crappy. I've had a stupid cold that just won't go away. It started off as me being not able to breathe but has now developed into me almost always feeling like I need to throw up, not nice.
Anyway that's enough about that, we now go onto two good things and a bad thing.
Good 1:
This last weekend I spent with Lis, Kel & Kay in Ireland! It was great to see everyone again, I don't get to see everyone nearly enough. Ireland was also lovely. We managed to watch all sorts in the way of episodes and films which was nice. Hell, we even started converting Kel into watching Dr Who (which EVERYONE should do anyway ;) ).
Good 2:
Vera was up with her sister Jo from Monday night up until last night. It was only a quick stay as Jo is off back home to Amsterdam today. It was really nice to meet her though. We went to Howarth for the day on the Worth Valley Railway (Steam trains FTW!!) which was a nice change (I picked Howarth as it's Bronte country and Jo loves English Lit of old and the railway as V loves trains). Fun was had by all. It'd have been nice to see V for longer, I miss her, but I'm off down to see her for a bit the weekend after next.
BAD:
Well, I got home from Ireland on Sunday night to find that my new house had been broken into. No one was there at the time, I was in Ireland, Debs is on her hols, Joe was at work and Paul was out for the day. Pretty much every console in the house has gone as well as Joe's laptop, a few of my hard drives, etc, etc. I was up on Sunday until stupid oclock while we made sure the side door (or rather the gaping hole where the side door used to be) was blocked up. Our landlord has now fit cool iron gate cage things over the front and side door as well as the basement window, but it doesn't change the fact that this one already happened. Eh well, I'm now waiting for my insurance claim form through the post. The police scene of crime people also finally came last night (after being "too busy" on Sunday and then going to the wrong house on Monday, gotta love the competency of Bradford Police) so we can finally clean up tonight seen as they have confirmed that they can get no prints as they seem to have had latex gloves on. Le sigh!

I'm Soooooooooooooooooo tired!
I got a full night sleep last night, I slept well in my new bed. I am however still SO tired! Yesterday just took it out of me :)
I was working on the house all afternoon & evening yesterday (I worked in the morning) with Mum helping me out, doing a few trips to & from home with cars full of stuff. Luckily I already put my new bed (Double bed yey!) and my drawers in last week when I painted. I built up my wardrobe (have a new canvas wardrobe I got from Argos, looks nice) and put all my clothes away (not ironed but sod that for now, I'll do that after V has left next week.
I'm now faced with my second room being full of boxes and spare furniture (that the landlord will be getting rid of at some point). Over the next week or so I hope that I'll get it turned into my office as it should be :)
So yes, I'm finally out of home :)
& I love it.
After all the hard work & stress yesterday i just collapsed on my bed, looked up out of the window (I'm in the attic conversion so I get a Velux window as a skylight above my bed), watching the rain fall down, hearing the soothing pitter patter & I smiled.

Well, It's time. I'm just about to put down my head for the last time ever in Mum & Dad's house.
Moving tomorrow :)
Yey!
Moving tomorrow :)
Yey!
Yep, I had my first driving test yesterday & failed.
The BEST thing though is HOW I failed (you're allowed to laugh, I do). I was out for 45 minutes and drove fine, a few minors but nothing bad. Then, I was on the home straight, driving up the road to the test centre.
"Pull into the side road to the left of the test centre." says the driving examiner.
Now, due to me breathing mental sighs of relief I (at first) hear this as "pull into the side of the road on the left by the test centre". My head only figures out that I'd gotten the instruction wrong as I'm almost there, I do manage to pull into said side road but alas I'd realised too slowly and ended up overshooting the turn by a fraction (pushing my right wheels just over the centre line of the side road).Over the centre line, Instant fail.
45min test, about to pass, fail in the last 5 seconds.
Now it's another 5weeks or so wait for another test slot & at least another block of 4 lessons in the process. My stupid brain cost me £200 in 5 seconds. GAHHHH!
That is all

Hey F-List!
How are you all? Hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend. Twas all fun here, I went to Collectormania, more on that in a sec.
Firstly, Big news of the week. For those of you who i haven't had chance to speak to yet I'm Moving Out!
Yes, after forever living at home I'm finally getting out and gaining some sort of freedom. All going well I'll be moving in with some friends (Paul & Debs and whoever we get for the other two spaces) of mine in Bradford on July 1st. It's a shared house and there'll be 5 of us. I'm pretty sure I'll be having a house warming do at some point but am not sure exactly when. But anyway, it's about 5 mins walk from work, tis a big house with large rooms (which i get the pick of, apart from the one that Paul has already picked) and well, I'm just rather rather excited (I hereby apologise if it's all i talk about for the next two months).
And in secondary news, I *was* keeping this secret but seen as a) I'm bored of the secret and b) I keep wanting to talk about it. I'm coming clean. I've been taking driving lessons since Feb now. I've had to take a couple of breaks with shows and work getting hectic (and Amsterdam) but all going well another couple of months and I should be taking my test :) I will say that I'm enjoying it LOTS! In fact, my instructor goes on holiday for a few weeks as of next week and I'm gonna miss driving LOTS. I passed my theory last month so all that remains is driving practice, I'll keep you all updated.
Ok, Collectormania! All fun.
As is the usual now I don't really go down to see any of the famous peeps, pretty much all the regulars I've seen before and there wasn't anyone new that set me alight, Collectormania is pretty much a social thing for me. Anyway on that front it rocked. I set of stupid early on Sat morning to catch the coach (woke up at 5 to get the 5:45 bus *YAWN*). For those of you who haven't seen my webcomic yet or don't know the backstory I've been chatting with Jonica (pronounced You-nica) on the XKCD forums since last year and a couple of months ago we set up mookeo.com togeather (She goes by "Moo" on the net). Anyway, despite many an online chat we've never met in RL yet so we rectified that this weekend as she left Steve (her hubby) at home renovating (Steve, you have to come next time and teach me how to not suck at Guitar Hero). She met me at the coachway in MK (which is a tempory one at the moment while the renovate the real one, it says a lot that the temp one that is porta cabins and traffic cones is a LOT more neat and efficient than the old one) and we proceeded to The Center:MK where we had some breakfast while waiting for Lis.
Then a usual day at Collectormania (Up and down all the rows of stalls mentally spending all my money before then going around for photos and signatures for people who want them). Kay joined us later on when we retired back to Lis' house for a night of Singstar & Guitar Hero on the PS2 (including a sing off of Jonica and I Vs Kay & Lis, we lost, lol).
Sunday was a much slower affair, we were all SO tired from staying up so late on Sat (& Kay & Lis had a concert to go to later that day). Shopping was done as was lots of sitting down proclaiming that our feet made us do it. I got back home at around 9pm-ish and promptly had a shower and went to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
And in other amusing news I have made an amazing scientific discovery! Internet Spam Bots do not wear any underwear! I have a "Contact me" form on my website which includes all sorts of silly questions, one being "What colour underwear are you wearing?" I just had a spambot fill my form out, the answers are below:
Your Name: zhvIAjjlM
Your Favorite Colour: wasSGJWUOjk
The Capital of Assyria: It\'s \"A\" you idiot
Your Email: RKqHREHiZutb
Subject: bsZrZjVUXXEdr

Message: AWcTYv //rest of message removed by me as it contained a link to a website containing spyware & malware\\
What colour underwear are you wearing? I\'m not ;)
Under a week until collectormania! Yey!
I'll be there the Sat & Sun for anyone else that'll be there :)
I'm already meeting Lis & Kay chan (Miss you both so much) and my friend Jonica who I do my webcomic with.
Yes, for those of you who haven't heard any of my self advertising tripe already I now do a weekly webcomic. It's geeky and puerile but hey, that's the way I roll.
You can find it over at www.mookeo.com and I try and get one strip out a week on a Friday (so far so good).
Anyhow, apart from that everything is being rather samey here. I'm just looking forward to Collectormania.
Ohh, i had the Arts Ball this last weekend! It was a lot of fun (and I got to dress up all neat like, pics under the cut if you wanna see me in a tux).
Anyhow, that's all for now,
HUGS!!!

Hey F-list!
I know we haven't spoken in a while, it's not that I don't love you i promise.
Anyway, to be serious for a second, with busy busy work being very busy recently I'd almost completley forgotten to even check my Flist recently, sorry guys. But anyway I'm here again, I'm back.
So, what's been happening with me? Ummm, all sorts.
I started a webcomic for one. Not a great one but it's just a "for fun" thing really. I started it with Jonica (a friend from the XKCD fora, if any of you see me at Collectormania she'll be there too) over at www.mookeo.com. It's science geeky and purile and I've already resorted to toilet humor by the second strip :)
I'm also looking into a new job on top of my current one. Nothing that stressfull tho, it's a "Halls Warden" job at the uni, basically I get to live in halls for a year for free and they pay me a grand, all i have to do is be on call now and again for things like stupid students setting off fire alarms. I prob won't get it, there are a lot less positions this year than last as we don't have as many university owned halls as we used to but still, cross fingers for me Mmmkay?
Also I broke up with Caroline this weekend. No sadness though, we're still friends. It just wasn't working out in a couple-y way and if we'd have gone on we'd just have made each other feel stupid & awkward. All is good tho.
And lastly I'm going to be in the BUSOM (Bradford Uni Society of Operettas and Musicals) Summer Concert here at the university.
*Matt waits for people to stop laughing*
Stopped yet? Well, to answer your question, yes, this does mean me singing, mainly in the background tho (they tell me I'm a bass). The concert itself is based on 7 deadly sins & 7 heavenly virtues so yey.
And well, that's about it.
Ohh, quick update on previous posts tho, Masey is doing a LOT better, she's shocked us all (in a good way) and is now almost as mobile as she was before the scare. So YEY!
